SOLICITOR BANNED

NOT TO 'APPEAR FOR WIFE

LONDON, June 1

The Wimbledon Bench yesterday refused to allow Mr. Graham Green, solicitor, to conduct the prosecution of a man accused of improperly assaulting his wife, Mrs. Eirene Mary Graham Green, of Artleberry-road, Morden. The reason given was that he was an interested party. Mr. F. W. Wareham, the magistrate’s clerk, said to Mr. Graham Green: “It is most extraordinary and irregular for you to appear in this case, although there is really nothing wrong in it.” Alexander Michael Godden. IS, a labourer, of Buckfast-road, Morden, was remanded on bail until June 4 on the assault charge. He was granted legal aid. The incident was alleged to have taken place in a Morden cinema.
