WAR OFFICE BUYS FARM
ARSENAL TRANSFER. i BRIDGEND (Glamorgan), May 20. It is believed here that the War Office is proposing to transfer a see ’ tion of Woolwich Arsenal to Water J ton Court Farm, a holding’ of 121 J acres near here, which it has just acquired. A much bigger tract of land in the ' immediate vicinity may be bought. ' It was at first believed that the faun would be converted into an aeroplane works, but this will now 1 be built at St. Athan, near ‘ Llantwit Major, nine miles south-east of Bridgend. Waterton Court Farm adjoins the ’ G.W.R. main line and is also travel sed by the main road from Pontypridd to Bridgend. There are several other roads in the vicinity. It is stated that a large number of sidings are to be built. Mr. D. W. Grilliths, owner of the farm, returned from the War Office I last night. He said that the, purchase of his farm had been completed that evening. He was impressed by the expeditious manner in which the business had been done.
