SCULLING. [BY CABLE —PRESS ASSN. —COPYRIGHT.] SYDNEY, July 2. A. M. Fisher, New South Wales rowing champion, has challenged the Australian sculling champion, A. Burns, to a £lOO aside match, for the Australian title, which has been accepted. The match will take place on the Richmond River, North Coast, on July 11. HOCKEY. The hockey fixtures, to be played on, the Recreation Ground on Saturday are: Wesley v. Cobden, at 1.30 p.m. (Messrs. K. Balchin and Knapp). Pacific v. Mawhera, at 2.45 p.m. (Messrs. W. Newton and W. Butler). RIFLE SHOOTING. The Runanga Ladies’ and Men’s Miniature Rifle Club held a combined shoot on Tuesday. The first half of the evening was spent in the usual team shoots. The trophy and Hotty Button- for the Ladies’ Club was won by Mrs O’Neill, as also was the sealed trophy given by the Men’s Club. The scores were: Mrs O’Neill 64, Mrs Mossop 61, Miss M. Tyson 59, Miss J. Tyson 56, Miss N. Storrie 53, Miss M. Maddison 52, Miss D. Newton 49, Mrs Pattinson 47, Mrs Smith 40, Mrs Bannister’4o, Mrs Barker 38, Miss M. Moore 36, Mrs Whitehead' 28.

After supper a combined teams’ shoot was held. There were five teams in all, and Mr J. Smith’s team was the winners with a total score of 342. The individual scores were: — J. Smith 64, C. Bowden 65, Mrs Barker 43, Mrs Mossop 63, J. Mossop 63, Mrs Pattison 44.

MARIST SCHOOL SPORTS The second round of the Inter-House Soccer resulted in some even contests, and four of the games reversed the decisions of the first round. In the “A” Grade the leaders, St. Columba, were beaten by St. Pauls, by 4 goals to 1, while St. Josephs secured their first win at the expense of St. Patrick’s by 2 goals to 1. Results were: — Intermediate Grade: St. Patrick’s 3 v. St. Josephs 2. St. Columba 3 v. St. Pauls 2.

Junior Grade: St. Joseph’s 2 v. St. Patrick’s 1. St. Columba 5 v. St. Paul’s 0. St. Joseph’s Junior team is the only one of the twelve playing, to win every game. In the Soccer, St. Joseph’s have scored 80 points, St. Columba 70, St. Patrick’s 55 and St. Pauls 35.

A. Dowell, K. Knowles, R. Kiely, L. Beban, J. Pascoe, E. O’Brien, and C. Mundy were the outstanding players of these games.
