CHRISTCHURCH, July 1Entries were on the small side at today’s Addington market, and mainly owing to this cause there was a very keen sale in practically all sections of fat stock. Fat sheep: Only 3000 were penned, and there was an advance of from l/o to 3/-, the latter being the increase for heavy ewes. The best price for wethers was 31/- to 36/-, good 27/- to 30/-, prime medium weights 24/6 to 26/6, and light down to 22/6. Toppriced ewes made from 25/- to 28/-, in a few cases to 34/-, medium to good 24/-, and light down to 19/-. Fat cattle: An average entry of 440 head. There -was a firm sale at the best of last week’s rates, with a slight increase for heavy steers. Best made from £l3 to £l5, good from’ £ll to £l2/15/-, and ordinary down to £9. Best heifers sold at from £9 to £lO, in special cases more, good £7/10/to £B/15/-, ordinary down to £6. Best cows sold to £lO/12/6, good £6/15/to £9, ordinary £5 to £6/10/-. Best beef made from 30/- to 33/- per lOOlbs, good 27/- to 29/-, ordinary 24/- to 26/-. Fat pigs: Porkers sold with less freedom, but baconers showed little change.
