Hawes, of Christchurch (8.12) beat Ralph Aitken, of Wellington (9.3) in ten rounds on points. Hawes timed his punches better and gave Aitken a good deal of punishment with hooks and jabs, but Aitken used a straight left cleverly. JACOBS V. FISHER. WELLINGTON, June 30. Providing the crowd with a spirited contest, Ern. Jacobs (Wellington) and E. (“Kid”) Fisher, (England) fought a draw in. ten rounds for the professional middleweight boxing title in a match at Petone to-night.
