OLYMPIC GAMES.
TOKIO, June 30
A vigorous campaign has been launched to have the 1940 Olympic Games in Japan instead of England. The Tokio municipality has undertaken to defray half the cost of transport of foreign teams. 1940 will coincide with the 2,600 th anniversary of the Japanese Empire. WHIPPET RACING. Following are the results of the events decided at 4he meeting held, last Sunday, by the Dunollie Whippet Club:— Novice Flat Handicap: Gloster Lad 1, Pretty Polly 2. Also started: Pal-o’-Mine, Epris, Dusky Chum. Time 12 4-ssec. Open Flat Handicap: Miss Orion 1, Black Dawn 2. Also started: Racketeer, Jack-a-Dandy, Grand Mix, Freckles. Mountain Rose. Time 12 l-ssecs. Open Hurdles:—Miss Orion 1, Caliente 2. Also started: Red Hope, Racketeer, Dandy Paul, Black Dawn. Time 13 4-5 secs. Middleweight Handicap: Keith Lu 1, Miss Orion 2. Also started: Nova Belle, Miss Kiltowyn, Eight-Stone-Eight, Anzac, Mountain Rose. Time 12 secs. ,
