[our own correspondent.] REEFTON. June 20. The Conciliation Council sat at the Courthouse, Reefton, on Thursday evening, on' the matter oi the wages dispute at Blackwater mine at Waiuta. After a sitting lasting four and a-quarter hours, the Council agreed on certain of the minor demands ol the Union, but not on the major points, and the matter will now bo submitted to the Arbitration Court. The Council comprised Mr. Ritchie, Conciliation Commissioner (Chairman), Messrs S. P. Williams, J. Scott, .1. Rodden and J. McGregor, representing the Inarigahua Miners' (inion, and R. .1. Humphries, and W. Gore-Pori er (Blackwater Mines, Ltd.) The funeral of the late Isaac; Patterson moved from the residence, Church Street, for the Suburban Cemetery, on Friday afternoon, the concourse of those who attended to pay their last respects being one of the largest seen in the district. Rev. Mr. Heyward, of Knox Church, conducted the services at the house and at the graveside, and the pall-bearers were six nephews of deceased. At the Warden’s Court, Reefton, on Thursday, Mr. H. Morgan heard an application for a lien for wages by J. T. Mills, for an order of sale over the property of the Mount David Sluicing Company, for an apiount of wages totalling £74/8/-. The amount was fixed by the Warden at £54/15/-, and > costs were allowed to Mills totalling ' £3/10/-.
