CYCLIST’S DEATH
MAGISTRATE BLAMELESS

HOKITIKA. June 19.
The inquest was concluded this afternoon in connection with the death of the boy. Allan Joseph Havill, aged eleven years, who died on Saturday evening last, June 13, as the lesult of the accident earlier that day, near the Hospital, on Arahnra Read, when the deceased was cycling, and collided with the car driven by Henry Morgan. Stipendiary Magistrate, oi Grey mou th.
The evidence showed that Morgan took' every care, allowing plenty of clearance. The evidence showed that the boy made a sudden, almost a right-angle turn inwards as the car was passing, striking the left rear mudguard of the car, and receiving a broken thigh arid brain laceration. A verdict of accidental death was returned by the Coroner. Before the verdict was returned, counsel appearing on behalf of the parent (Mr Steve Havill) ami relatives of the deceased, expressed their acceptance in its entirety’ of the evidence of Morgan as being a true and full account of the unfortunate occurrence. They also expressed thanks for the prompt attention given to the injured lad.
