Mr H. Morgan presided at a sitting of the Warden’s Court to-day. The following applications were dealt with.—

Consolidated Gold Fields of N.Z., for Prospecting License (2), and also for extension of time for hearing same. —Granted.

R. J. Warring, for renewal of ■Water Race License. —Renewed. R. W. J. Pattison, Water Race License. —Granted.

N.Z. Prospecting and Mining Ltd., for two Ordinary Prospecting Licenses. —Both granted. •

Andrew Campbell for a Tunnel License, and for a certificate of abandonment of Tunnel License, owing to same area held by T. H. Lee. — Abandonment certificate Tunnel License recommended. Costs allowed £3/6/- against holder of present license.

G. I. Paine for an Ordinary Prospecting License. —Recommended. Miss C. M. Morris for a certificate of protection.—Granted for three months.

L. J. Byrne for a Special Alluvial Claim. —Refused.

W. H. McAlpine for Ordinary Prospecting License. —Recommended. G. W. Lowes, Inspector of Mines on behalf of His Majesty the King, for a special site license. —Recommend.

D. McVicar and others, to surrender Ordinary Prospecting License. —Surrender accepted. F. \V. Bowie for an Ordinary Prospecting License. —Recommended. Mr H. Morgan, S.M., presided at the fortnightly sitting of the Magistrate’s Court to-day.

Terrence McMahon, charged with allowing stock to wander on Buller Road, was convicted and fined £1 with costs 12/-. A. B. Archer, as Traffic Inspector, charged F. L. Turley with driving a motor vehicle without being the holder of a motor driver’s license. Defendant was fined 5/- with costs 10/-. In S. Austin v. Carl Gilman Junr., judgment was given for plaintiff by default for £l4/13/6 and costs.
