KING’S CUP RACE

RUGBY, jlune 17. The Duke of Kent is among the 28 who have entered aeroplanes for the King’s Cup air race to be flown on July 10 and 11.
AUSTRALIAN SYNDICATE.
CANBERRA, June 18.
At the invitation of the Commonwealth Government, a syndicate has been forined to float a. company, with a nominal capital of one million pounds, for manufacturing of aircraft, and of aero engines in -Australia.
The Prime Minister, Mi’ J. A. Lyon, stated to-night that the syndicate includes the Broken Hill Proprietary, Limited'; the Broken Hill Smelters, Limited; General Motors, Holdens, Limited. He said that the factory will be equipped with the most modern plant.
CHICHESTER’S FLIGHT. AUCKLAND, June 19. Plans were completed to-day for a world holiday flight by Chichester (pilot) and F. D. Herrick, Hastings, after the arrival of the former by the Limited, from Wellington. The plane, a Gypsy Major Puss Molli, was packed and transported from Hobsonville aerodrome, and loaded this afternoon, on the Wanganella. The flight commences at Sydney, and thence to the East Indies.
