LEAGUE FOOTBALL
EXECUTIVE MEETING. A meeting of the Executive of the West Coast Rugby League was held last’ evening, there being present, Messrs. L. Hunter, B. Rathbun, B. Ramsay, W. Barlow, A. Kyle, J. Anisy; (Management Committee), W. Ryan (referees’ delegate), M. Buckley (Inangahua Sub-Centre), K. Creagh, E. Duggan (Brunner Club), W. Oliver, R. Nelson (Blackball), J. Glynn (Runanga), and R. J. Harrington (secretary). In the absence of the President (Mr. A. 11. McKane), from whom an apology was received, Mr. Hunter was voted to (.he chair. . The Inangahua Sub-Centre wrote confirming the arrangements for the senior an,d junior representative matches at Reefton on Tuesday next, and submitting the following for selection of referees:—Messrs. A. McElwee, J. Quinn, J. Tibbles and J. Nicholson. Mr. A. McElwee was chosen for the senior game, and Mr. J. Quinn for the junior. ’ • Applications from the Inangahua Sub-Centre for the re-admission to the code of H. Maloney (senior), and E. R. Bradley (junior) were granted, subject to the approval of the New Zealand League.
On the motion o£ Messrs. Rathbun and Ryan, it was decided that the Possibles "and Probables game, postponed i.rom last Sunday, be played on Sunday next. The Dunollie Whippet Club advised that it was intended to hold a race irieeting at Dunolie on June 2S. Tho letter was referred to the Fixtures Committee. Accounts amounting to £l5/10/8 were passed for payment. Mr. J. Stokes was appointed manager of the senior representative team to travel to Reefton, and Mr. J. Griffen manager of the junior team. It was decided that the non-replacement rule should be observed in the representative matches. The explanation of the Brunner Club for the late arrival of their senior team for the match against Ngahere was accepted. , Footballs were granted to the Taylorville, Dobson and Stillwater schools.. After some discussion, the proposals of the F.A.M.E. Company,’for players’ insurance, were adopted, and the scheme will come into operation with next Sunday’s matches. FIXTURES.
The following fixtures were arranged for Sunday:— . * Possible v. Probable trial match, Wingham Park, 2.30 (S. Smith). , Junior: Kumara v. Blackball, at Kumara, 3 p.m. (B. Becker); Runanga v. Pirates, at Dunollie, at 2.30 (M. Hall); Barrytown-v. .Marist, at Wingham Park, at 2.30 (A. Fielding), friendly match. Third Grade: Pirates v. Runanga, at Duitollfe; at £.30 p.m. (G. Pope); Brunner v. Marist, at Wingham Park, at 1.30 (J. Mathews). Fourth Grade: Marist v. Runanga, 'at Wingham Park, at 1.30 (C; Restieaux). Schoolboys (Saturday): Runanga v. Marist, at Dunollie, at 1.30 p.m. (J. Tailentire). .
INANGAHUA SUB-CENTRE. At the weekly meeting of the Inangahua. Sub-Centre, over which Mr. C. Coxall presided, final arrangements were made for Tuesday’s representative matches. It was decided to assemble'the senior team in Reefton on Monday evening, and the juniors on Tuesday,-at 12.30 p.m. Mr. C. Chandler was appointed manager of the junior team, and Mr. C. Coxall manager of the senior team.
Two admissions were accepted, and the registrations of G. G. Lockington, W. Lockington (W.aratahs), R. McDougall and R. Kiely (ReeSton) were approved. The fixtures tor Sunday arc: — Senior: Nelson Creek v. Junctioli, at Nelson Creek (J. Tibbles); Waratahs v. Aliaura, at Reefton Racecourse (J. Quinn); Waiuta a bye. Junior: Junction v. Reeftog, at Junction (C. Coxall); Mawheraiti v. Waiuta, at Mawheraiti (A. McElwee). All matches arc to commence at 2.45 p.m.
