FOUND SHOT
NELSON FARMER'S DEATH.

NELSON, June 16
J. Caldwell, a farmer, of Kiwi, was found dead to-day as the result of a gunshot wound. In consequence of information received, Inspector F. Lewin, Sergt. Simister and Constable Houston left immediately for Kiwi, which is about 40 miles from Nelson.
HOW TRAGEDY OCCURRED
NELSON, June 16
Police investigations show that deceased was shot by his fifteen-year old daughter, while he was allegedly attacking his wife. The daughter picked up a rifle to frighten her father. Tire rifle went oT, the bullet entering his neck, death being instantaneous. Deceased was a war veteran, and suffered severely from gas poisoning.
