Official statistics released by the Railway Commissioner showed that during the past ten years, 1,450,000,000 railway passengers were carried in New South Wales, without any fatality having been caused, by a mishap in railway operations. WELCOME RAIN. SYDNEY, June 11. General rain is falling in New South Wales, and it will greatly benefit the agricultural and pastoral areas, which have more or less been experiencing a severe drought, the effects of which are reflected in a lower percentage of lambing. Some graziers have been hand feeding their stock for over four months.
ADELAIDE WOOL SALE. ADELAIDE, June 11.
Prices for, all good quality fleece at Adelaide wool sales'-tdßlay were 5 to per cent, lower than the February levels. Inferior lots dropped 10 per cent.
The lack of Japanese competition was not responsible for the fall in the better types, which; at times enjoyed keen competition, but their absence was noticeable with the case of inferior lots, which Japan usually buys in large quantities.
