BRIGHTENING PARK LIONS
RED, BLUE AND GREEN LONDON, March 21. * .John Hamlyn Leaman, IS, a clerk, painted three ornamental lions in Oakwood Park. Southgate, in bright colours. Tie told the police afterwards that he did this because he did not like the look of them. ’Phis story was told at Wood Green police-court yesterday, when Leaman was lined CIO and ordered to pay damages. The borough surveyor said it would cost about that stun Io repair the damage. It would he necessary to take the lions down. It. was stilted that one lion was painted red, another blue, and the third green. Apparently paint had been poured over the lions, and it had run down the pillars on which they stood.
