At to-day’s wool sales 9037 bales were offered and 8067 were sold, also 1706 privately. The market continued very firm at late rates. The average price of wool for the first three days of the week was £l4/15/11 per bale, and 11.2 d per lb. The low average is due to a large proportion of crutchings being offered. LONDON SALES. LONDON. May 7. At the wool sales, 9987 bales were offered, including 6239 New Zealand, and 7513 were sold. There was a good selection, composed largely of New Zealand crossbreds, which were well cleared under the influence of keen Home competition. Current rates were maintained. Australian greasy merinos were heavily withdrawn, owing to the firm limits. New Zealand scoured merinos, Flockhill, top price 24d, average 22jcT. ADDINGTON .MARKET.
