TRADE TREATY SIGNED. [BY CABLE —PRESS ASSN. COPYRIGHT.] WASHINGTON, May 6. The Franco-American Trade Treaty was signed to-day by Senator Hull (Secretary of State) and the French Ambassador, M. Laboulays. Pending publication of the text on May 13, the publication of the text on May 13, the disclosed. The State Department is drawing attention to the fact that this* is the thirteenth. trade agreement made since June of 1934, and is the fifth with a European country.
It is indicated that the treaties will provide improved opportunities for the expansion of trade in special products of special interest to each country. In addition to duty concessions and quota increases by France, and duty concessions by the United States on carefully selected lists of products, the agreement provides generally for a substantial measure of the most-
favoured nation treatment by each country of the commerce of the other.
