Mr and Mrs J. Piner, Runanga, returned la-: evening, from a holiday visit to North Canterbury.

Mesdames W. J. Sullivan and J. Purdon, Timaru, are visiting Greymouth.

Miss P. M. Andrews, formerly of the Queen Mary Hospital, Hanmer, arrived yesterday, from Christchurch, to replace Miss A. Blackie, as masseuse, at the Grey Hospital.

Passengers by yesterday’s express from Christchurch included, Mrs. P. Warnes, Mrs. J. Hassal, Miss M. Maddison (Runanga), Misses L. and M. Hopkins, Messrs. W. T. Cunniffe and W T. Adams (from Cromwell), J. M. Dennehv, J. Molloy and H. Harvey.

Dr. S. A. Gibbs (Nelson) and Messrs. J. AV. Hannan fGreymouth) and Errol Reid (Blenheim) have been re-appointed to the licensing authority for No. 7 Transport district for a term of three months as from May 1, says a “Gazette” notice. Dr. Gibbs has been appointed chairman.
