“RED FLAG” ON COURT
WASHINGTON MYSTERY. [BY CABLE —PRESS ASSN. —COPYRIGHT.] (Recd. May 8, Noon). WASHINGTON, May 7. The Red Flag of Communist Russia, with hammer and sickle, was discovered at dawn to-day flying on the flagstaff above the new and imposing supreme Court building. At the base of the pole, was a copy of the Harvard University students, humorous publication “The Lampoon, containing an article entitled Down With Capitalism.” A regular guard composed ot toui men, passed by the flagstaff all night, yet pranksters not only succeeded in raising the emblem unknown to them, but so skilfully knotted the halyards, that removal of the flag necessitated long labour by the police and firemen, who were compelled to employ a high extension ladder before they could tear down the emblem.
