[our own correspondent.] Although favoured with only a fair attendance, the Tennis Ball on Sat urday last proved an enjoyable func tion. The hall was tastefully decorated and the floor was in perfect order, while the music dispensed by the Marina Band was all to be desired for both modern and old-time dancing. The waltzing competition which was judged by Mr. A. V. Nesbit, was won by Miss E. Prendergast and Mr. T. Ryall. Other winners were: —Lucky Spot: Miss M. Howell and partner; Monte Carlo, Miss V. Mrs. L. Hughes, Berwick, Otago, spent a few days in the district, as the guest, of Mr. and Mrs. J. Ryall. Sister M. Williams, Greymouth, recently spent a short holiday with Mr. and Mrs. T. Dunn Mrs. W. Russell, Hukarere, is spending a holiday with Mrs. A. T. Richards.
