Figures released by the Government Statistician show that deaths on the roads of New South Wales in 1935 totalled 401, 66 more than in the previous year. DESERT RESCUE. PERTH, April 7. Stranded in desert country and in a serious condition from thirst,* five, men were rescued midway between the towns of Meekatharra and'Wiluna. When found, two of the men were delirious. The party became stranded when a njotor truck in which they were travelling broke down.
WESTRALIAN DROUGHT. PERTH, April 7. The drought over almost the whole of the sheep country throughout the last two seasons, is still unrelieved. Practically no lambs were raised last season. There have been heavy • losses of grown sheep.
RICH ESTATES. SYDNEY, April 6. Two large New South Wales estates were admitted for probate today, namely, the late Sir John Voears, who left £177,000, and the late Hpp’v Forbes Creswick, of Melbourne, left £257,649. In addition to his New South Wales estate, the late Mr. Creswick left in Victoria an estate valued at £121,000.
