KUMARA MEDICAL FUND.

[TO THE EDITOR.] Sir—l would thank'you for brief space to draw the attention of Kumara citizens to their need to attend the public meeting called for Monday evening, December 16. Every year the same difficulty presents itself—that of getting a few citizens willing to act as collectors for the Medical Fund. To form an active committee is essential if we wish to keep a doctor resident in the town. I am often advised how the money can be raised, but what the town wants is practical helpers. If the old system is to be improved upon, please come along and let the question be discussed. Can the whole affairs of the Medical Fund be put on a better footing? Could a properly constituted Medical Association be formed? I feel sure the Board would' be glad to assist in getting the necessary organisation together. All that is needed is public co-operation and support.—Yours, etc., H. HAMER (Mayor).
