BADMINTON TOURNEY

FOR GUNN TROPHY. A badminton tournament for the Gunn trophy was conducted in St. John’s Hall last evening, between teams representing St. John’s Club (Greymouth) and the Hokitika "Badminton Club. The matches were drawn, six all, but Hokitika Won the trophy by the narrow margin of 157 points to 151 points. Supper was provided by the lady members of St. John’s Club. Results, St. John’s players being mentioned first in each instance, were: — Ladies’ Doubles: Miss C. Tennent and Miss N. Tennent 5, lost to Miss 0. Stapleton and Mrs Stevenson 15; Mesdames A. McDowall and J. Forbes 14, lost to Mesdames Butland and H. Perry 16; Mesdames 0. McLean and E. Hay 11, lost to Misses Anderson and Keller 15. Men’s Doubles: V. Stevens and N.
