SEDDON SHIELD MATCH
COASTERS ALL FIT FORWARDS MAY DECIDE ISSUE [SPECIAL TO “STAB.”] BLENHEIM, August 3. Lansdowne Park is in perfect order for the first Seddon Shield game of the season. The weather is ideal, and altogether the stage is set for a great game this afternoon. The Marlborough backs have been re-arranged through the defection of Lane and Wilson, consequently the combination is pioblematical. The home pack is strong and average eight pounds per man heavier than the Coasters. It is generally considered that on their success or otherwise. will depend the fate of the Shield. . The Coasters are confident that they can counter the extra weight with more speed and dash. AH tne visitors are fit and ready to stand a great game. Nolan was pronounced fit by Dr. Wilkinson this morning, and will take his place at full-back. Mr: Adams (manager) is confident that if the forwards get their share of the ball, the backs will do the rest. Red and white ribbons are greatly in evidence to-day. There must be at least 200 Coasters in the town. All the hotels are booked out.
Yesterday afternoon, the visitors were taken to the aerodrome and seven made flights over the town.
