MINISTERIAL CAMPAIGN. I PER PRESS ASSOCIATION.] WELLINGTON, August 2. During the next few weeks Ministers of Uje Crown will be busily engaged in addressing public meetings in various parts of the country. A complete schedule of their meetings in the main centres of the Dominion has been drawn up. It will be announced as soon as the dates are confirmed. It is the desire of the Government to spend as much time as possible before the opening of next session of Parliament in covering the Dominion, with the object of defending the Government’s policy against the attacks which have been made upon it by the members of the Opposition. The Acting-Prime Minister will set the ball rolling at Dannevirke on Thursday next, when he will make a general reply to the various speeches made by the Leader of the Opposition, Mr M. J. Savage. Sir A. Ransom vvill later speak in Dunedin. DEMOCRAT PARTY. WELLINGTON, August 2. A meeting of candidates selected to contest seats in the interests of the Democrat Party will be held here on Wednesday next. Mr Davy states that the Party’s policy will be later announced. OTAKI CANDIDATE. WELLINGTON, August 3. A. B. Sievwright, the Wellington lawyer, has consented to submit his name to a selection ballot for the Nationalist candidate for the Otaki seat, provided the selection committee is composed equally of Reform and United supporters.
