WHITE GIRLS ON PREMISES. [per press association.] PALMERSTON N., July 12. Discoveries made by the police dining a raid upon premises occupied by two Chinese laundrymen, were related by Detective-Sergeant Bickerdike in the Magistrate’s Court, when Hong Kee, aged 40, and Charlie Kee, aged 67, were charged with having been found in possession of prepared opium. Two pipes and a quantity or opium-smoking material were produced in Court. Detective-Sergeant Bickerdike saitt that he, with another detective and a constable, visited accused’s premises, and made a search. Tliej found, all the equipment necessary tor smoking opium. “The place was pretty well nairicaded, and was full of opium smoke he added. “The worst feature is that two young girls were living there at the time. It is not suggested they were smoking, but both were destitute.
