The subject for the essay this year will bo “The Advantages and disadvantages of placing the various police forces of the country under a common administration.” 'l’his has long been under
[discussion by Home Office officials, j The competition is open to ail rogui lar police forces of the Empire, and there is a first prize of 30 guineas | for the best essay. The length must 'bo between 7,000 and 11.000 words, and the entries must be sent by November 1. to the Secretary of the Council, Police Gold Medal Competition. Home Office, London, S.W. Il is possible, that the authorities may receive new ideas on the subject. Thus the police themselves will be helping to solve one of the greatest. problems of police administra--1 ion.
