[OOB OWN OOBBiaPONDBNT.] The Brunner Defence. Rifle Club held their annual ladies' trophy shoot on the Taylorville range this week. The weather was ideal but the last few ladies to shoot shot id very dull light. The scores were:—Mrs W. Gutberlet 33, handicap 1. Mrs J. Rolands 31—i, Miss E. Nimmo 31 —2, Mrs W. McMahon 33- — scr., J. Nimmo 32—2. Mrs Gutberlet 22,8 —2, Miss E. Nimmo 24—2, Miss M. Rodgers 20—2. Afternoon tea was served in the Riflemen's hut, which was gaily decorated for the occasion. Mr T. Morgan, President of the Rifle Club, thanked the ladies for attending and sincerely hoped they would patronise the shoot on future occasions. He then asked Miss Fentiman to accept a hand bag, donated by Rifleman W. Buchanan, and Misses McMahon and Nimmo with trophies donated by the CJub. Miss M. Rodgers, on behalf of the ladies, thanked the Riflemen for the splendid afternoon’s entertainment. Mr Kevin Creagh, who has been on a visit to Leeston, returned last evening. Mrs Mayhew and Mis® Patty Mayhew, returned by last evening’s express. Mr T. Todd, Dobson, returned from Christchurch. Mrs Murray and Miss E. Murray, Opptiki, are the guests of Mr and Mrs R. R. Smith, Taylorville. The weekly meeting of the W.E.A. Drama Circle, was held af the residence of Mr n. R. Smith, Taylorville. The- four-act play “The Lady With the Lamp” by Reginald Berkeley, was read. The discussion was left over.
