DISTRICT NOMINATIONS HOKITIKA CONTESTS [SPECIAL to “stab.”] HOKITIKA, January 24. Nominations for the Borough Council are (nine wanted): J. A. Cuttance, T. W. Duff, A. R. Elcock, James King, G. Heinz, A. J. Thompson, E. Teichelmann, E. C. Park, H. L. Michel, W. J. Richards, E. W. Heenan, H. T. Parry. The last five are new candidates. Messrs A. C. Armstrong and D. P. Stuart' did not seek re-election.

AUCKLAND. AUCKLAND, April 24. There are four candidates for the Auckland City Mayoralty: Ernest Davis, Joseph Sayegh, A. J. Stallworthy, M.P., and H. G. R. Mason, M.P. Mr Mason’s nomination this morning was a surprise, as Mr Sayegh was chosen some weeks ago as the official Labour candidate. For the City Council (21 seats): There are 58 candidates, including full Citizens’ and Labour tickets, and three Communists. There are 28 candidates for the six city seats in the Transport Board. There will be contests in most suburbs, but in One Tree Hill, the Borough Mayor, I. J. Goldstine, and the entire Council, were again unopposed, both for the second time in succession. Mr R. Ferner was unopposed as Mayor of ML Albert. LATER. Auckland City Mayoralty: Mr Mason M.P., has withdrawn his nomination, leaving three candidates. DUNEDIN. DUNEDIN, April 24. Rev. E. T. Cox, the present Mayor, J. J. Marlow, City Councillor, and R. S. Black, ex-Mayor, have been nominated for the city Mayoralty. For the 12 seats on the Council 31 have been nominated, including full tickets by Citizens’ Association and the Labour Party.

TIMARU. TIMARU, April 24. Four candidates have been nominated for the Mayoralty: T. W. Satterthwaite (sitting Mayor). A. M. Patterson, G. T. Koller, and G. Benstead. Seventeen candidates have been nominated for the nine seats on the Council, six for three seats on the Hospital Board, five for three seats on the Power Board and five for three seats on the Harbour Board.

WANGANUI. WANGANUI, April 24. Nominations for the Wanganui Mayoralty are W. M. Falconer and W. J. Rogers. Twenty-foy,r nominations were received for twelve seats on the Council.
