CLUBS FOR LONDON. I ONDON. February -1. London will have six professional Rugby League clubs next season. This decision was made at a meeting in London vesterday between officials of the Northern Rugby League and Mr S E. Parkes, who is financially interested in the new venture. Mr Parkes, who owns the Wandsworth grevhound stadium, has been given full authority to proceed with a scheme for the formation of Rugby League clubs in London and tho South. , , _ It is proposed tbat he form six London clubs to be attached next season to the 2S clubs at present constituting the Northern League. Two of the places mentioned where clubs might be started are Mitcham and Wandsworth. The chibs will play home and away matches on alternate Saturdays under ordinary conditions—not floodlight. Sites for most of the new clubs have already been acquired. Teams from France, where the League game

is gaining a strong hold, may be invited to play in the metropolis. If the London venture proves a success further clubs will be formed in certain South coast towns, and eventually a Southern Section of the Husby League may be inaugurated.
