At the Leichardt Stadium, in a heavyweight contest of 15 rounds, Ambrose Palmer, 12.6, outpointed the Italian-American, Pietro Georgi, 12.7, after a splendid exhibition. Palmer received a cut over one eye, in the first round, but in spite of this Usability, succeeded in outboxing his opponent, who, prior to coming to Sydney, performed well against most of the leading Americans, including Rosenbloom. In a preliminary bout, the New Zealander, Billy Pascoe, 13.1, knocked out Jerry Reilly, 12.8, in the second round.
