FXTA.L CROSSING SMASH. ADELAIDE, February 2,1. When a train struck a car at. a lev el ~,.n c Mn<- at Kirkcaldy, David Payne and John Kearns, 32 were killed and Christina Kearns, 01, was ciitical injured. The car was smashed to mat ch wood.
BANK MANAGER SENTENCED. ADELAIDE, February 27. In the Criminal Court, Francis Edmund Power, 45, former manager ot the State Bank at Barmera, was sentenced to imprisonment for five J' Gal ’ s ' on each of five charges, the fences tc- bo concurrent. Powr admitted \ forging cheques and stealing money belonging to the Crown. His total defalcations were £4,548. KISCH RELEASED. 'SYDNEY, February 27. The agicement permitting Kisch to leave Australia, a free man. was signed in Sydney, and Kisch left for Melbourne. He will take part, with Griffin in a torchlight "release” procession through Melbourne streets, to-night. Kisch is to leave as a passenger, without any restrictions on his movements on the vessel or at. intervening ports. ASSAULT CHARGE FAILS. SYDNEY. February 27. Gordon Watson. Ronald Watson, arid Allred Twyman, were discharged on a charge of having, in company, assaulted Mrs. Cain. The Magistrate, after hearing the evidence, dismissed the infoi maiion. He said that the man responsible for the assault was not before the Court, and therefore the assault-in-company chai gr- must fail.

Coleman, senior assistant sheep and wool instructor, oi the Department of Agriculture, who recently i eturned from a tour of New Zealand, thinks that within ten years the tat lamb export trade of New - South Wales will he on an equal looting with that in N-.w Zealand, and will be able to compete with it successfully in every respect.
