SCHAEF’S HALL You cannot do better than visit Schaef’s Hall this evening. The popular old time dance held there is always freely patronised, as the appointments, music, and floor* are easily the best on the Coast. Come along and meet your friends. DERRY’S MILITARY BAND Derry’s Military Band and assisting artists ■will present an exceptionally good programme to-night in the Town Hall commencing at S o’clock. Tomorrow afternoon the Municipal Band will march the visitors to Sunny Rugby Park where they will play one of their best programmes in ideal surroundings. Given gpod weather the event -will be an 'outstanding one, tor among the items selected by the band are the grand selection “Chu Chin Chaw” and the idyll “The GlowWorm.” TBoth these items are being repeated to-morrow at the request of a large number of Greymputh people who heard the band play them on the previous visit. Preparation has been made by the Rugby Union for a big crowd and a hollow square has been formed.with the band on a raised platform in the centre and seating for 20b0 people around. The management ask patrons to be there at 2 o clock when the gates will be open. If the weather is too wet for the concert to be given in the Park, it will be held in the Town Hall. ST. JOHN’S FLOWER SHOW. What should prove a very popular attraction is St. John’s Flower Show and garden party, next Wednesday at St. John’s Hall, Tainui Street, when there will be competitions for flowers <,and vegetables, and also sale of these. -On the lawn competitions in croquet 'and putting will be held., while aftertnoon tea ivill be obtainable. The stalls •will, include those for cakes, sweets, and sewing. ■ RUGBY UNION CARNIVAL. The United Football Club has chosen Miss Marie Cullen as ito Queen Carnival candidate for the ’ Rugby Union Carnival, and already ladies’ and men’s committees have • been set up to organise the campaign. Wall in Mackay Street, and next Wednesday afternoon a swimming carnival will be held at the Municipal Baths.
