SAAR REFUGEES. [by CABLE —PRESS ASSN. —COPYRIGHT.] LONDON, February 6. In the Lords, Lord Marley raised :he question of the Saar refugees. He said that seventy thousand would be forced to take refuge in other countries unless t’je problem were quickly dealt with, and would be an obstacle to Germany’s return to the League. Lord Strathcona, replying, said it would be improper for Britain as a single member of the League Council, to express an opinion on the subject at this stage, when the Council, as a whole, had appointed a special committee to obtain information and make recommendat ions. 11 IT I,ER'S EN(AG EM ENTS. BERLIN. February 7. Hitler has cancelled his public engagement for ton days, in order to engage in urgent political conferences, presumably in connection with the Anglo-French declaration.
