MR. MONTAGU NORMAN
RE-ELECTION RECOMMENDED. The Court of Directors of the Bank of England have agreed to recommend to the proprietors in March next the re-election of Mr Montagu Collet Norman as Governor for the year ensuing, and the re-election of Sir Ernest Musgrave Harvey as Deputy-Governor. , Mr Montagu Norman has been Governor of the Bank since 1920. No | other Governor of the Bank has ever had so long a term of office. Sir Ernest Harvey, who has been his deputy since 1929, will celebrate next year his fiftieth year in the service of the Bank.
