AUSTRALIAN RACING

RESULTS FROM RANDWICK. [by CARLE —PRESS ASSN. —COPYRIGHT.] SYDNEY. December 26. The Randwick races were held in beautiful weather, before a good attendance. The track was fast. Homer scored his third successive win when he defeated a brilliant field in the December Stakes. Great interest was taken in Homer’s meeting with Strathardale, but the contest was robbed of a certain amount of satisfaction, firstly because the latter secured several lengths’ advantage over Homer at the start, and secondly because Strathardale lost several lengths at the entrance to the straight. Homer battled to the lead and was going best at the finish. Miss Nottava tried to win all the way in the Summer Cup, but the effort was too great and at the Leger Brown Force and Dark Chief were fighting for the lead, the latter gaining a narrow verdict. Senior was fourth. In the Chisholm Handicap Wexford led into the straight from The Marne,

Vista, Veilantif, High and Golden Gate.’ High took a good lead and managed to hold off Golden Gate in .a particularly strong finish. Myra Tip Jost a lot of ground at the start, but finished brilliantly. Croupier, having his first race since April, was near the Trial field all the way. The outsider. Dark Son, who won the first race, is a Beau Fils gelding by ths New Zealand mare Kihnont. Lovesong finished valiantly to win the Jockey Club Handicap. The early leader was Kodapen, but entering the straight almost the whole field-drew abreast.
