STAFFORD DREDGE RETURN Stafford Dredging Company’s return for the last 60 hours’ running was 48 ounces of gold. MATAKI DREDGE. Mataki (Murchison) reports:—The dredge pulled ahead 45ft in ground of an average depth of 15ft. The length of the face is now 350 ft. The dredge had a good run. In the early part of the week the wash showed signs of improvement, but on Wednesday became drifty on. one side, with a good deal of buried timber on the river side in the old workings. I am still gradually dropping off ground on the inside and opening out across the river. There is very little gold in the river, that which we are getting being very fine and light. ALEXANDER MINES.
