STORM AT SYDNEY
HEAVY DAMAGE REPORTED. [by CABLE PRESS ASSN. COPYRIGHT.] (Recd. December 24, 8 a.m.) SYDNEY, December 23. Heavy damage is reported from all parts of the metropolitan area, following a severe thunderstorm which struck Sydney this evening. The wind reached 1 gale force. Heavy rain was accompanied by hail. The Liverpool district' was plunged into darkness when the electric light wires were broken. A number of houses were unroofed. Small craft in the harbour were severely buffeted and many overturned. The police are searching for two men reported to have been drowned.
