[by CABLE —PRESS ASSN. —COPYRIGHT.] WOOL CHEQUE. MELBOURNE, December 24. The Commonwealth wool cheque for the season ended November 30 was a little more than half that for the same period in 1933, the total this season being £12.448,368, compared with £23,456.585. SCOUTS’ ENDURANCE MELBOURNE, December 23. Grim determination not to miss the jambore.e was shown by three Rover Scouts, who cycled from Perth to Melbourne, arriving on Saturday, worn and weather beaten, but with spirits undaunted. They covered the journey of 2368 miles in six weeks, carrying packs up to 70 pounds, enduring temperatures of 114 degrees on the arid Nullabor plain. The party experienced only three punctures. They crossed Nqllabor Plain by following the trans, continental railway line, and were assisted with food by railway workers, as there are no towns where supplies are obtainable between Kalgoorlie and Port Augusta, 1800 miles. 118 Scouts led by Commissioner Cooklsey, arrived from New Zealand by the Mahcno. 50 are due by the Marama and the remainder by the W’anganella next week.
