The death is announced from London of Vice-Admiral John Glossop. He was born in 1871. He w’as in command of the Sydney when that ship sank the Emden.

The wedding took place at Holy Trinity Church this morning of Ella Catherine, daughter of Mr and Mrs Leonard Foster, of Aratika, and David Geary, of Waipuna. Miss H. Foster, sister of the bride, was bridesmaid, and Mr M. Geary, brother of the bridegroom, was best man. Archdeacon J. A. Jermyn officiated. Mr and Mrs Geary left by the express for Christchurch.

The wedding was solemnised at Holy Trinity Church, this morning, of Thelma, daughter of Mr and Mrs W. R. Ford, Greymouth, to George, son of Mr and Mrs G. Broughton, Totara, Flat. The bride was attended by Miss Lorna Outram, as bridesmaid. Mr W. A. Fairhall, cousin of the bridegroom, was best man. Archdeacon J. A. Jermyn officiated. Mr and Mrs Broughton left later, by car, for Christchurch.
