SOME PTE. The account, of a certain Christmas dish, made .160 years ago, causes wonder whether pies arc what they used to be. Here is the account of it. “On Monday last, there was brought to Berwick, to be shipped to London, for Sir Henry Grey, Bart., a pic, the contents of which are as follows: —- “Two bushels of flour, 20 pounds of butter. 4 geese. 2 turkeys, 2 rabbits, 4 wild ducks, 2 woodcocks,: 6 snipes, 4 partridges, 2 neats’ tongues, 2 curlews, 7 blackbirds and 6 pigeons.” “The pie was nearly nine feet round at the bottom, and weighed twelve stone.
