The expedition to Campbell Islands to shear sheep left there three years ago, when the holding was evacuated under instructions from the mortgagees, will probably be proceeded with. A telegram from Dunedin on Wednesday announced that the mortgagees had given no authority to anyone to interfere with the stock, but Mr 11. Brown, of Cheviot, organiser of the expedition, has received a message from Wright, Stephenson and Co., Ltd., who are acting for the mortgagees, stating that it will be necessary for Mr Brown to arrange an agreement in Dunedin before leaving. It is not yet known when the expedition will leave. Their boat has been launched, and a trial run with the engine was satisfactory.
