with Canterbury seniors by 24 run cn the first innings, and Canterbury won the junior match with Marist by an innings.

TECHNICAL v. CANTERBURY. The Technical innings closed for 132, Knapp 56, Vaughan 23 and East not out 11, being the only onesi to reach double figures. The Canterbury fast bowler, Howell, a tall righi - bander, finished with six wickets for 18 runs, and Baxter, a left-hander, took 2 for 26. . The Canterbury innings realised 108 after a bad start, 7 wickets falling for 49. However, Ollivier 21, Murray 25, Baxter 18, with the opening batsman, Pither, who scored 20 helped the score along to a respectable total. CANTERBURY V. MARIST. The Canterbury Juniors proved too strong for the Marist School eleven, and after dismissing the home team for 32 runs, went, on to ma.ke 232 runs. Marist were dismissed a second time tor 106, the last wicket falling with the last ball of the day, to give Canterbury the victory by an innings and 94 runs. In the Canterbury innings, Sandston was top scorer with 61, followed by Smith 50 not out, and Barley 41. Gilbert and Cullen were the most successful Marist bowlers. In Marists’ second innings, the slow bowling of Dawker, bagged him 6 wickets for only 16 runs. Cullen batted solidly to top score with 54 runs. In the A. teams’ match on the No. 1 wicket at the Recreation Ground, Canterbury batted first, and at 2.15 p.m. had scored 197 for 7 wickets. The. principal scorer was Eathorne, who batted splendidly for 89, before being caught off slow bowler, Davy. WestWatson and Jennings also batted attractively for 21 each. At that stage, Knapp, Davy and Vaughan had taken two wickets each.
