ALLEGED RECEIVING
CHRISTCHURCH MAN ARRESTED. [per press association.] CHRISTCHURCH, December 20. Following a. police raid on his shop in High Street, yesterday, Edwin Joseph Fearon, a hairdresser, 29, was charged before Magistrate Mosley, that on or about November 23, he received from Leslie Pearce, tobacco and cigarettes, valued at £99, the property of the New Zealand Farmers’ Co-op. Association, knowing them to have been stolen. He was remanded till January 15, on hail of £lOO, one surety of £lOO, a condition being to report daily to the police. The police said that probably five other informations would be laid in regard to tobacco from five other “breaks.” The men concerned in the breaking and entering case would appear on January 8.
