WALLIS MYERS’ VIEWS. FREMANTLE, December 18. Mr. Wallis Myers, the tennis authority, is a passenger on the Maloja, which has arrived from England. Interviewed, he expressed the opinion that Perry’s recent defeat by Quist was due to some extraneous cause., He said he did not think that professionalism would extend to the same extent as it has in golf. He added that the best interests of the game would be served by the maintenance of the amateur status in tennis. Mr. Myers is attending the Australian championships at Melbourne next month.
