■WEATHER FORECAST. General inference: A moderate anti-cyclone is moving slowly off New Zealand to the east. Pressure is falling over Eastern Australia, where conditions are becoming very disturbed. Forecast: Winds variable at first, but northerly gradually prevailing and freshening. Weather fine and warm, but clouds increasing, and later rain developing. Seas smooth to moderate.
