FASCIST BRANDS
NORDIC V. ROMAN. [by CABLE —PRESS ASSN. —COPYRIGHT.] LONDON, December 17. A message from Montreaux states: The Fascist delegates planned to meet at. an hotel here, instead of at Geneva, for the sake of secrecy, but they found the hotel to be besieged by journalists. Sir Oswald Mosleys English party is not represented. General O’Dnffy (Ireland) said:— The most we can do is to recognise the general principles of Fascism. England has so long dominated our country that it should understand that peace can be established only on the basis of reciprocal goodwill. There came a clash between the Nordic and the Roman brands of Fascism. The delegates from France, Austria, Greece, Belgium, and Portugal praised Signor Mussolini and Rome as the spiritual centre of Fascism.
A Norwegian delegate. M. Vidkun, protested that Northern countries did not accept the idea of the universality of Rome. He said: We are planning a union of all northern countries, Scandinavia, the British Empire, Germany and the Netherlands. A resolution was carried paying a tribute to Signor Mussolini as the founder of Fascism, which is alone able to maintain peace.
