More and more business may be expected to be regulated by the Canadian Government, so the Prime Minister, Mr. Bennett, told the Commercial Travellers’ Association. He said: “That is not a prophecy, but it is a promise.” Sir Robert Falconer urged that there .should be a full-time Ministry of Foreign Affairs for Canada. He said. “If Britain formed an alliance with Japan, then Canada would be forced to" take a stand as between Britain and the United States.” He continued: “We must not be crushed by inherited hatreds. The Pacific must not become for us a Europe!”
