Though his putting was done with some luck, Cooper played perfectly for a scope of 72 to-day. Sarazen took 74 to-day. Thomson did 70 to-day, while Ezar’s score was 73. Laffoon did 71. The Victorian, A. V. Rae, who today did 71, gave a brilliant display. He missed a one yard putt at the tenth hole, but he regained the stroke by sinking a 20-footer at the eleventh hole. Kirkwood’s score to-day was 78. He now has no chance. He went out in 40, and came home in 38. Kirkwood’s play was scratchy.
