KISCH ARRESTED. [BY CABLE —PRESS ASSN. —COPYRIGHT.] SYDNEY, November 16. Mr Justice Evatt, of the High Court, to-day ordered the discharge of the Czecho-Slovakian, Kisch, from the custody of the liner Strathhaird a captain. Kisch was carried oft the ship on a chair. He was greeted with a few desultory hand-clasps. Then he was escorted by the police and Customs officials to a taxicab, in which ho was conveyed to the police station, where he was given a test in the Gaelic language. He was then arrested and wa» charged with being a prohibited immigrant.. He will appear before the Court to-morrow.

ASSAULT ON SOLICITOR. SYDNEY, November 16. In the case of the assault on Miss Jollie Smith, Ernest Lamb, aged 51 years, an accountant, was charged at the Central Police Court with having unlawfully assaulted Miss Smith. He also was charged with common assault. Lamb was remanded till November 27.

GERALD GRIFFIN. WELLINGTON, November 16. The parents of Gerald Griffin, with whom he lives in Wellington, disclaim knowledge of their son’s whereabouts, except what, they have read in the newspapers, but have no reason to doubt it was he who first interviewed the Sydney press representatives. They say that the last direct information from him was a telephone message about 4 p.m. on Thursday, week, but in it he did not indicate an intention of leaving. The Marama left Wellington for Sydney a little after 3 p.m., but the Wanganella sailed from Auckland for Sydney on the following morning. It would have been-possible for Griffin to board that ship. A Sydney Customs department official expressed the belief that he travelled by the Wanganella.

VISIT TO KISCH. (Recd. November 17, 10 a.m.) SYDNEY, November 17. Kisch spent the night in the Sydney hospital, under police guard. In his few minutes of freedom between the ship and the Court, Kisch declared that Gerald Griffin, for whom the authorities are searching, had actually visited him in his. cabin on the Strathaird.
