TOURISTS FOR N.Z.

AUSTRALIAN CONTINGENTS. [by CABLE —PRESS ASSN. —COPYRIGHT.] SYDNEY, November 16. The Strathaird, one of the largest and fastest liners in the passenger trade, left Sydney to-day for Brisbane, whence she departs at the beginning of next week, on a pleasure cruise for New Zealand. . Her passengers, numbering 850, are being picked up at Australian ports. They will disembark at Auckland on November 23. They are rejoining the vessel three days later at Wellington. A large proportion of the passengers have already arranged tours in New Zealand, and there will be officers of the New Zealand Publicity Department aboard the liner, who will arrange further trips en route. Three other similar cruises are to take place this summer. Mr Schmitt, the New Zealand Government representative here, paid a courtesy call on the captain of the Strathaird this afternoon. On behalf of the New Zealand Government he expressed the best wishes for a good trip.
